Dhaka, June 18 -- The Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) has warned of temporary flooding in the low-lying riverside areas of several districts following forecasts of heavy rain.

FFWC Assistant Engineer Emon Kalyan Das told bdnews24.com on Thursday afternoon, "There is a possibility of heavy rain in Sylhet, Mymensingh and the upper sections of the northern region after the next 24 hours. This may continue for three to four days.

"Due to this, the water of the rivers in these areas may flow at the danger limit. At the same time, the low-lying areas along the rivers may be temporarily flooded."
