Dhaka, April 4 -- A mild to moderate heatwave is currently sweeping through 15 districts across Bangladesh, with meteorologists predicting the sweltering conditions will persist for at least two more days.
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Saturday identified Tangail, Gopalganj, Rajshahi, Pabna, and Patuakhali, along with all 10 districts of the Khulna Division, as the areas most affected by the rising temperatures.
Meteorologist Mohammad Shahinul Islam said the heatwave may persist for another two days.
The mercury reached a national high of 38.5degC in Chuadanga on Saturday.
In stark contrast, Sylhet recorded the country's lowest temperature at 19degC, alongside the highest rainfall of 83mm over the last 24 hours.
