Bangladesh, Aug. 3 -- National Citizen Party (NCP) Convenor Nahid Islam has warned that ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina will be taken to the gallows "straight from the airport" if she returns to Bangladesh.

He made the warning at an NCP discussion event at the Institution of Diploma Engineers in Dhaka's Kakrail on Monday.

The party provided details of the meeting in a media statement afterwards.

He said, "If Sheikh Hasina returns in December, if Tarique Rahman makes arrangements with Delhi to bring her back, then we are ready.

"Families of 1,400 martyrs and 30,000 injured fighters will take to the streets, and we will remain there until the sentence is carried out."
