Dhaka, June 7 -- The father of murdered child Ramisa Akter has welcomed the verdict in the rape and murder case, saying it has fulfilled his expectations.

He has voiced hope that the death sentences handed down to the two convicts will be carried out quickly.

On Sunday, after the court sentenced both convicts to death, Abdul Hannan Molla said the ruling had delivered the justice he had sought for his daughter.

"Insha Allah, I am fully hopeful the verdict will be executed soon. By the grace of Allah and within the timeframe given by the prime minister, we have received the justice we wanted."
