Dhaka, April 29 -- Even after 55 years of independence, it has not been possible to compile a complete list of martyrs and victims of genocide in the Liberation War, Liberation War Affairs Minister Ahmed Azam Khan has said in parliament.

He said the government has now taken the initiative to compile a complete list of martyrs in the Liberation War. Once the initiative is implemented, it will be possible to compile an "accurate and acceptable" list of genocide victims and all martyrs.

He made the remarks in response to a question from Pirojpur 3 MP Ruhul Amin Dulal during the question and answer session of the parliament chaired by Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad on Wednesday.
