Dhaka, March 1 -- The BNP government has removed another secretary and withdrawn five deputy commissioners (DCs) within two weeks of taking office.

In an order issued on Sunday, Local Government Division Secretary Md Rezaul Maksud Jahedi was relieved of his current duties and attached to the public administration ministry.

The government also withdrew the DCs of Gazipur, Panchagarh, Kushtia, Netrokona and Chapainawabganj and placed them under the public administration ministry.

They are Mohammad Alam Hossain of Gazipur, Kazi Md Saimuzzaman of Panchagarh, Md Iqbal Hossain of Kushtia, Md Saifur Rahman of Netrokona and Md Shahadat Hossain Masud of Chapainawabganj.
