Dhaka, March 25 -- The government is considering reducing the number of subjects in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations from 2027.

Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon discussed the proposal with the chairmen of all education boards at a meeting on Wednesday.

However, no final decision has been taken, said Prof Khandokar Ehsanul Kabir, president of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee and chairman of the Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board.

Speaking to bdnews24.com on Wednesday afternoon, he said: "Once it is finalised, the minister will brief, and the ministry will also make an official announcement."
