Bangladesh, Sept. 9 -- The government has banned the use of "His Excellency", "Honourable" or any other honorific before the titles of the president, prime minister and ministers in official correspondence and documents.

The ban also extends to state ministers and deputy ministers.

The Cabinet Division issued the directive on Wednesday, ordering all ministries, divisions and their subordinate offices to enforce the decision.

The matter was flagged as highly important, requiring immediate action.
