Government appoints Masud Khan as new BSEC chairman
Dhaka, June 4 -- The government has picked Masud Khan as the new chairman of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) as part of a move to "restructure" the capital market regulator.
The appointment comes amid ongoing efforts to reshape market oversight.
On Thursday, Masud Khan's name, widely discussed in connection with the post, was confirmed for the top role at the watchdog.
Masud had been serving as chairman of Unilever Consumer Care since April 2019. He also served as principal adviser to the board of Crown Cement Group.
