Dhaka, March 26 -- The government has promoted Golam Sarwar Bhuiyan, currently director general of the Wage Earners Welfare Board, to serve as secretary of the Parliament Secretariat.

The promotion, announced on Wednesday by the Ministry of Public Administration, elevates Sarwar, an additional secretary-ranked officer, to the top post at the Parliament Secretariat.

He succeeds Kaniz Moula, who was appointed to the post on Jul 14 last year.
