Dhaka, April 13 -- The Namaz-e-Janaza or funeral prayers for former law, justice and parliamentary affairs minister Shafique Ahmed will be held in two stages at Farmgate's Indira Road and the Supreme Court.

Barrister Mahbub Shafique, the late lawyer's son, said the first funeral will be held at 11am on Monday at the play field on Farmgate's Indira Road and the second funeral prayers will be held at 1:30pm on the Supreme Court premises.

Shafique had died at the age of 89 at Bangladesh Medical College Hospital in Dhaka on Sunday. He is survived by two sons and a daughter and numerous admirers.

Mahbub said after the funeral, the body will be at the Central Shaheed Minar from 3pm to 4pm so people from all walks of life can pay their respec...
