Dhaka, Feb. 17 -- After securing a two-thirds majority in the 2026 election, BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman is set to form a new government, with 49 names listed for positions as ministers and state ministers.

While speculation continues over who will secure a place in the cabinet, attention has also turned to the salaries, allowances and privileges they will receive.

President Md Shahabuddin will administer the oath to the new cabinet members at the South Plaza of the parliament building on Tuesday afternoon.

Advisors of the interim government will arrive in vehicles bearing flags and depart without them, symbolising the transfer of authority.
