Four children with measles symptoms die in Mymensingh
Dhaka, June 27 -- Amid the unrelenting surge of measles cases in Bangladesh, four more infants have died with symptoms of the disease at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH), taking the facility's death toll to 58.
The deaths, all involving children aged 8 months or younger, occurred on Friday and were confirmed Saturday.
Among the victims were two children from Mymensingh district: a 4-month-old from Shapla Bazar of Haluaghat Upazila, admitted on Jun 18, who died on Friday afternoon; and a 3-month-old from Palashkanda in Phulpur Upazila, admitted on Friday morning and dead by evening.
The other two came from further afield.
