Dhaka, April 27 -- The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) has shown former Madaripur-3 MP Abdus Sobhan Mia Golap arrested in a case of crimes against humanity filed over a murder in Madaripur during the July Uprising.

A bench headed by Justice Nazrul Islam Chowdhury, chairman of the International Crimes Tribunal-2, issued the order on Monday after accepting the prosecution's application.

The former MP was brought to the tribunal in a prison van from jail on Monday morning.

Prosecutor Faruk Ahmed represented the prosecution in court.

He requested that the Awami League leader be shown arrested in a case of crimes against humanity filed in connection with the Madaripur killing.
