Former MP and JaSaD leader Mosharraf Hossain dies
Dhaka, June 21 -- Former lawmaker from Lakshmipur-4 and Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JaSaD-Inu) vice president Mosharraf Hossain has died.
He was 78.
He passed away at a private hospital in Dhaka around 1:30am on Sunday while undergoing treatment, said Mahbube Elahi Sani, a relative of Mosharraf and a professor at Lakshmipur Government College.
A freedom fighter, Mosharraf was elected MP from Lakshmipur-4 (Ramgati and Kamalnagar) as a candidate of the combined opposition in the 1988 fourth national election.
He was a central leader of the then undivided Chhatra League in the 1960s and served as vice-president of Dhaka University's Shahidullah Hall student union.
