Dhaka, March 31 -- Former food minister and Awami League leader Qamrul Islam has filed a petition with the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) seeking a directive for advanced medical treatment.
The application was submitted on Tuesday, confirmed Chief Prosecutor Md Aminul Islam.
The tribunal is expected to hear the matter on Wednesday.
Qamrul, a former lawmaker from the Dhaka-2 constituency, was arrested in Uttara on Nov 18 last year.
He faces multiple charges related to attacks on the students' movement against discrimination during the July Uprising that toppled the Awami League government on Aug 5.
