Dhaka, June 2 -- The District Civil Surgeon's Office in Cumilla has issued show-cause notices to five doctors for being absent at a government hospital.

The decision comes hours after Cumilla-4 MP Md Abul Hasnat, well known as Hasnat Abdullah, made a surprise visit to the Debidwar Upazila Health Complex on Tuesday.

During the inspection in the morning, Hasnat ordered action to be taken against the absentees.

Civil Surgeon Ali Noor Mohammad Bashir Ahmed said. "The doctors were required to be present at work on time. They breached the rule. I heard that the local MP went there and found them absent.
