First Eid-ul-Azha congregation draws thousands at Baitul Mukarram
Bangladesh, May 28 -- Thousands of Muslims have packed Baitul Mukarram National Mosque for the first Eid-ul-Azha congregation of the day, with worshippers pouring in from across Dhaka from dawn.
The first congregation was held at 7am on Thursday, led by Baitul Mukarram Imam Hafez Maulana Mufti Md Mizanur Rahman.
The mosque was filled to capacity by 6:45am.
After prayers, Muslim devotees raised their hands in supplication, praying for the wellbeing of Bangladesh and its people, before exchanging embraces and Eid greetings in the traditional fashion.
Four more congregations will follow throughout the morning -- at 8am, 9am, 10am, and 10:45am.
