Dhaka, March 21 -- Thousands of worshippers have taken part in the first Eid-ul-Fitr congregation at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in Dhaka after a month of fasting.

The congregation ended at 7am on Saturday, with prayers offered for the welfare of the country and the nation.

Residents from across the capital begin arriving from early morning to take part, dressed in traditional attire, including panjabi, pyjama, and prayer caps. Many wore attar fragrances.

Children and teenagers attended alongside their guardians.

Tight security measures are in place around Baitul Mukarram for the Eid congregation, with archways installed at entry points.
