Dhaka, April 14 -- A Chattogram man has killed his two-month-old child after throwing him to the ground because his mother "was late in serving tea".

The incident occurred in Charia village in Hathazari's Mirzapur Union on Tuesday, police said.

Osman Gani, 28, fled after the killing. Police have detained the child's uncle Md Rumman, 25.

The child and his mother were sitting on the bed at home when Osman came in and told her to serve them tea, said Kazi Md Tarek Aziz, additional superintendent of police for the Chattogram district.

"When the tea was late, Osman Gani grew enraged, went to the bed, and threw the child to the ground twice."
