Dhaka, June 5 -- Three people have been killed in separate lightning strikes in Tangail and Barishal, including a father and his daughter.

The father and daughter died in Tangail's Delduar Upazila around 1:30pm on Friday.

They have been identified as Khalidul Islam, 30, and Khadija Akter, 10.

They were on their way to a wedding feast in the nearby Fazilhati Union, said Johra Sultana Zuthi, administrator (UNO) of Delduar Upazila.

Relatives said Khalidul, an NGO worker in Gazipur, went to his village home on Thursday.

Later, he went to his in-laws' house in Fazilhati Union with his wife and daughter.
