Dhaka, May 11 -- A father and his three sons have suffered serious burn injuries after an alleged gas leak sparked a fire in Narayanganj's Fatullah.

The incident occurred at a single-storey house in the Kutubpur Rakhibazar area next to Fatullah's Shibu Market, according to Apurbo Bol, an officer at the Shibu Market Fire Station.

The victims have been identified as Abdul Kader, 50, and his sons Mehedy, 17, Sakib, 16, and Rakib, 16.

The three have been rescued and admitted to the National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute in critical condition, says Shawon Bin Rahman, assistant professor at the institute.

Abdul has burns on 57 percent of his body, while Mehedy has burns on 18 percent, Sakib on 17 percent, and Rakib on 25 percent.
