Dhaka, May 21 -- Two labourers and as many farmers have been killed and another injured when lightning struck them in Barishal and Naogaon.

Police said the fatalities were reported between Thursday morning and afternoon.

In Barishal, the labourers were working on a betel leaf barge of Mahilara Bhima Paar in Gournadi Upazila

Gournadi Model Police chief Md Tariq Hasan Russell said Abdul Alim Howlader, 60, a local resident, and Sukanta Bala, 38, of Wazirpur Upazila died in the incident.

Gopal Sarkar of Gournadi Upazila was injured. He was admitted to Sher-E-Bangla Medical College Hospital.

In Naogaon, two farmers -- Akkas Fakir, 60, and 22-year-old Tarek, identified by a single name -- died after a lightning strike in Raninagar Upazila....
