Bangladesh, Sept. 7 -- Power and Energy Minister Iqbal Hassan Mahmood has returned home after being discharged from hospital and has been advised to rest for a few days.

Mahmood was admitted to Ibrahim Cardiac Hospital on Sept 1 with fever, cough, a cold and breathing difficulties.

His aide Abdullah Al Qayes told bdnews24.com on Monday that the minister returned home on Saturday on doctors' advice.

"He will need to rest for a few days. After that, he should be able to return to his regular schedule," Qayes said.

BNP Standing Committee member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy visited Mahmood at his home on Sunday.

A person close to the minister said he also joined several ministry meetings online that day.
