Dhaka, March 25 -- The Bangladesh Embassy in Kuwait says it is working to arrange alternative travel for Bangladeshi expatriates through Saudi Arabia after Kuwaiti airspace was shut because of the ongoing war in the Middle East.
In a notice issued on Tuesday, the embassy said international flights had remained suspended after the Kuwaiti government closed its airspace.
It added that efforts were under way to launch a special route through Dammam and Qaisumah airports in Saudi Arabia for expatriates needing to return to Bangladesh urgently.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh has already approved Kuwait Airways to operate flights via Dammam, the embassy said.
