Dhaka, Oct. 7 -- The Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) has arrested a 65-year-old woman after allegedly finding 100 grams of heroin worth an estimated Tk 1 million on her during a search of a bus in Dhaka's Jatrabari.

She was arrested after the Dhaka-bound Narail Express was stopped and searched at Dholairpar Gol Chattar on Tuesday night.

The passenger, identified as Masuma Khatun, was travelling from Jashore to Dhaka with the drugs, according to the agency.

Masuma told investigators during preliminary questioning that she had brought the heroin to Dhaka at the insistence and on the instructions of her daughter Tahmina, according to a DNC statement.
