Dhaka, Feb. 26 -- The Election Commission (EC) has revised the results of the referendum, reducing the total number of votes by around 1.1 million from the figures published in an earlier gazette.
The revised gazette was published on Thursday.
Of the reduction, nearly 1 million votes were reduced in favour of "Yes", while "No" votes dropped by slightly more than 100,000.
Excluding rejected ballots, the total number of valid votes now stands at 69,186,211.
Separate gazettes for the general election and the referendum results were issued on Feb 13, a day after the polls.
According to the earlier gazette, 77,695,023 people, or 61.03 percent, cast their votes in the referendum. Of these, 7,422,637 ballots were rejected for various reason...
