Dhaka, Sept. 21 -- Seven of the nine planetary boundaries that determine whether life can flourish on Earth are being breached at their highest ever recorded levels, scientists have warned in a stark annual health check of the planet's life support systems.

The planetary boundaries framework, established in 2009, tracks nine key indicators of Earth's stability., reports The Guardian.

The seven now in the danger zone are climate change, biosphere integrity, land system change, freshwater change, biogeochemical flows, novel entities such as plastics and chemicals, and -- added for the first time last year -- ocean acidification.
