Dhaka, Feb. 23 -- The Election Commission (EC) has reshuffled 112 field-level officers as it prepares to hold local government elections.

The commission's Human Resources Management wing issued an order on Monday detailing the reassignment of these officers.

In July last year, over a hundred election staff witnessed their duties change ahead of the general election and the referendum held on Feb 12 this year.

The overhaul comes after the commission, led by Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin, announced last week about initiating a move to formulate work plans for local government institutions.

The EC is expected to discuss the action plan later this week.
