Dhaka, May 13 -- The Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) will construct 18 multi-storey buildings to provide safe housing and help improve the quality of life for sanitation workers, says Administrator Abdus Salam.

The DSCC administrator revealed the plan after visiting the sanitation workers' dormitory in the capital's Dayaganj on Wednesday afternoon, says a media statement.

He said the existing old and risky buildings will be demolished to construct the multi-storey facilities with "modern amenities".
