Dhaka, May 12 -- The Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has announced that all buses must operate from within the intercity Sayedabad Terminal as part of a move to restore order to roads in Dhaka.

The decision was made during a coordination meeting chaired by DSCC Administrator Md Abdus Salam at Nagar Bhaban on Tuesday.

The corporation plans to modernise the terminal according to its original design while evicting all unauthorised counters in its surrounding areas.

"There is no alternative to the full utilisation of the terminal to bring discipline to the roads," Salam said.

"We will develop Sayedabad into a modern, functional facility while ensuring necessary amenities for both owners and workers."
