Dhaka, Feb. 23 -- Police have recovered the body of a 12-year-old domestic worker from the residence of the public relations officer of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in Dhaka's Pilkhana.

The victim, identified with a single name Halima, was found hanging inside a bathroom on Monday afternoon.

She hailed from Lakshmipur's Ramgati Upazila.

New Market Police chief Mohammad Ayub said authorities were alerted by BGB officials.

"We went to the residence around 2:30pm, broke open the locked bathroom door, and found the girl hanging from the ceiling," said Ayub.

The body has been sent to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) morgue for a post mortem examination.
