Dhaka, April 23 -- With the monsoon approaching, the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has unveiled a special crash programme aimed at curbing dengue transmission while also addressing the risk of urban waterlogging across vulnerable areas.
The decision came at a departmental coordination meeting held at the DNCC office in Gulshan on Thursday morning, according to a media statement.
The plan also includes preparations for the swift removal of sacrificial animal waste during the Eid-ul-Azha.
DNCC Administrator Md Safiqul Islam Khan directed officials to ensure the smooth flow of drains and canals so that rainwater does not accumulate in waterlogging-prone areas such as Airport Road and Mirpur.
