Bangladesh, Aug. 19 -- Incarcerated former foreign minister and Awami League leader Dipu Moni has met her daughter in Munshiganj jail to discuss a parole application following the death of her husband, Supreme Court lawyer Tawfique Nawaz.

Tani Deepavali Nawaz visited the prison on Wednesday to consult her mother on the duration and timing of the parole request, Jail Superintendent Md Jannat-ul Farhad confirmed.

Lawyer Md Faisal Hossain said preparations are under way to seek Dipu Moni's release on parole.

"Her daughter was allowed inside the prison to consult her mother. After finalising the application, it will be submitted to the district administration," he said.
