Dhaka, May 17 -- A Dhaka court has pushed back the deadline for submitting the supplementary investigation report on the murder of Sharif Osman bin Hadi, the convenor of Inqilab Moncho platform, setting Jun 7 as the new date.

Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Jashita Islam deferred the deadline on Sunday as the investigating officer, CID Assistant Superintendent of Police Abdul Quader Bhuiyan, failed to submit the report on time, Prosecution Police Sub-Inspector Rokonuzzaman said.

Hadi, who gained prominence during protests demanding a ban on the Awami League following the July Uprising, had announced his candidacy as an independent for the Dhaka-8 constituency in the general election.
