Dhaka, March 1 -- Bangladesh has condemned the "violation of sovereignty" in several Middle Eastern countries following a massive military escalation in the region, though it omitted Iran from its list of named nations.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on Sunday expressing deep concern over the safety of Bangladeshi nationals.

The condemnation follows a large-scale military operation launched by the United States and Israel on Saturday, which reportedly resulted in the death of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and over 200 others.
