Dhaka, April 13 -- A Dhaka court has granted the Detective Branch (DB) of police an additional three days to interrogate Manzil Haider Chowdhury, a former officer of the Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI), in connection with the "murder" of businessman Abdul Wadud during the July Uprising.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mahbub Alam passed the order on Monday following a hearing, confirmed state counsel Jamal Uddin Marjin.

Police arrested Manzil on Thursday in Dhaka's Mohakhali DOHS.

He was initially placed on a four-day remand on Apr 10.

Inspector Amjad Hossain Talukder of the DB's Ramna Zone produced the suspect in court with a prayer for a further seven-day interrogation.
