Dhaka, March 12 -- Counsel for 15 serving military officers accused of crimes against humanity has demanded that their trials be conducted under military law rather than the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) Act.
Speaking at a press conference on the tribunal premises on Thursday, defence lawyer ABM Hamidul Misbah argued that the cases against the officers fall outside the purview of the ICT's jurisdiction.
The 15 officers are currently facing three separate cases.
Two involve allegations of enforced disappearance and murder, while the third pertains to crimes against humanity committed during the July-August uprising.
