Dhaka, April 27 -- Police have recovered the decomposed body of a woman from a flat in Jurain under Dhaka's Kadamtali, where she had been living with her husband.

The victim, 27-year-old Sharmin Akter Shelly, was identified as an Ansar member by Kadamtali police.

Her body was sent to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for a postmortem examination on Sunday night.

Sub-Inspector (SI) Moshahidul Islam said the incident came to light after a call to the national emergency service 999.

On Sunday afternoon, police reached a fourth-floor flat on Jurain Commissioner Road and found the door locked from outside, with a strong, foul smell coming from inside.
