Dhaka, May 2 -- The four-day annual Deputy Commissioners' (DC) conference is set to begin on Sunday, marking the first such meeting since the BNP government took office following the general election.

Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Ghani and Additional Secretary Md Humayun Kabir shared details of the event during a press briefing at the Secretariat on Saturday.

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is scheduled to inaugurate the conference at 10:30am at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium.

A total of 498 proposals submitted by divisional commissioners and DCs have been shortlisted for discussion out of 1,729 initially received.
