Bangladesh, Sept. 6 -- A family quarrel has turned violent in Dhaka's Darussalam, with a husband allegedly shooting his wife in the right arm, the Rapid Action Battalion has said.

Jasmin Begum, 38, was at home in Matborbari Mosque Lane when the shooting occurred on Saturday night.

The family initially said an unknown gunman had fired through an open window as she watched television.

Jasmin is being treated at Dhaka Medical College Hospital and is out of danger, the RAB said on Sunday.

The RAB arrested her husband Abdul Mannan alias Abdul Hannan, 45, their son identified only as Rakib, 25, and Rakib's friend Hatim Mia, 21.
