Dhaka, Feb. 17 -- BNP chairman's Advisor Mohammad Amin Ur Rashid Yasin dropped his independent candidacy for the parliamentary election at the directive of the party chairman, despite not receiving the official nomination.
He subsequently pivoted to a leadership role as the Cumilla South coordinator.
There, he successfully mediated internal party disputes in six seats and remained a key figure throughout the electioneering process.
The former member of parliament for Cumilla-6 has also served as the convenor of the Cumilla South District BNP for a long period.
The party has rewarded his long-standing dedication with a seat in the new cabinet.
