Dhaka, March 7 -- A grocery shop owner has been stabbed to death allegedly for refusing to pay extortion money in Cox's Bazar's BGB camp, police said.
The incident occurred around 3pm on Saturday at Sahityika Palli near the BGB camp.
The victim, 35-year-old Ganesh Pal, operated a grocery store in the town's Borobazar.
Ganesh's wife Shefali Pal and brother Ashish Pal alleged that their neighbour, identified only as Zishan, had been demanding money while Ganesh was installing a septic tank at his newly built house.
The dispute had led to several arguments between the two parties in recent days.
Family members said Zishan attacked Ganesh with a knife on Saturday afternoon, stabbing him multiple times.
