Dhaka, May 13 -- A Dhaka court has sent an engineer to jail in a case over allegedly firing shots in the air, robbing Tk 1.9 million and injuring several people during a violent mugging at Dhaka's Kadamtoli.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Kamal Uddin on Wednesday rejected the bail plea of the suspect, Asaduzzaman Sabbir Mia, who was arrested a day earlier by the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)

The court ordered him to jail on the request of the investigating officer.

Another suspect, Robu Mia, surrendered before the court and was granted bail, Prosecution Sub-Inspector Moazzem Hossain said.

RAB-10 arrested Asaduzzaman in New Jurain's Alambagh on Tuesday around 7pm.
