Dhaka, April 18 -- The suspected supplier of the firearm used to assassinate Inqilab Moncho leader Sharif Osman bin Hadi has provided a confessional statement before a Dhaka court.

Following the completion of a three-day interrogation, the investigating officer, Assistant Superintendent of Police Abdul Quadir Bhuiyan of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), produced the supplier, Majedul Haque, alias Helal, in court on Saturday.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ariful Islam recorded the statement under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.

Afterwards, the suspect was sent to jail, confirmed Prosecution Police Sub-Inspector Roknuzzaman.
