Bangladesh, Aug. 26 -- A motorcycle driver and his wife have been run over and killed by a bus in Jhenaidah.

The incident occurred in the town's Bypass Gas Depot area on Wednesday morning, said Md Asaduzzaman, chief of Jhenaidah Sadar Police Station.

The dead have been identified as Md Sohel and his wife Tuli Khatun.

Sohel hailed from Narail, while Tuli hailed from Bardah village in Shailkupa Upazila.

Citing locals, Asaduzzaman said: "Tuli and her husband Sohel, an Army man, were travelling by motorcycle from the Sadar Hospital to the terminal."

"Along the way, the motorcycle was attempting to avoid a collision with a rickshaw merging onto the road and veered out of control. Tuli was thrown from the vehicle and was caught underneath...
