Bangladesh, July 21 -- Content creator Tawhid Afridi has secured bail in a fraud and criminal breach of trust case filed with Wari Police Station.

His lawyer says there are now "no legal obstacles" to his release.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ariful Islam granted bail on Tuesday, after hearing a petition filed by Afridi's lawyer Iqbal Mahmud Sovon.

Shovon said Afridi had been facing three cases. He had already obtained bail from the High Court in two of them, while the latest order cleared the last remaining hurdle to his release.

Afridi, the son of MyTV Chairman Nasir Uddin Sathi, was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Barishal on Aug 24 last year.

He was later shown arrested in several cases.
