Bangladesh, July 20 -- A government-appointed committee has proposed a standard minimum salary of Tk 30,000 a month for newly recruited doctors at private hospitals and clinics

The proposal also includes annual increments and additional benefits.

The draft recommends entry-level, full-time medical officers receive at least 90 percent of the basic pay of a government ninth-grade officer under the 2015 pay scale, with salaries adjusted under any future government pay revision.

Doctors would work 48 hours a week, receive a 5 percent annual increment after one year, three festival bonuses and a Tk 1,000 medical allowance.
