Dhaka, June 25 -- China has pledged to continue supporting efforts to resolve the Rohingya crisis and assist Bangladesh in engaging with Myanmar on the issue, Prime Minister's Foreign Advisor Humaiun Kobir has said.

He made the remarks at a press conference on Thursday at Beijing's Diaoyutai State Guesthouse following talks between Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and Chinese premier Li Qiang.

Briefing reporters on the discussions, Humaiun said Li welcomed Bangladesh's application to join the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP).

He said Tarique raised the Rohingya crisis during the meeting, describing it as one of Bangladesh's foremost security concerns.
