Bangladesh, July 22 -- China has donated $100,000 in emergency cash assistance through the Red Cross Society to help people affected by floods and landslides across Chattogram and other parts of Bangladesh.

Chinese Ambassador to Dhaka Yao Wen handed over the donation cheque at an event at the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society's office in Dhaka's Moghbazar on Wednesday.

Beijing stands ready to send disaster management experts to Dhaka if needed, he said, adding that cooperation in this area needs to be strengthened, since it concerns saving lives in Bangladesh.

He said the Chinese people felt heartfelt sympathy for the people of Bangladesh during this difficult time.
